Outside Sales Representative

The Outside Sales Representative, (or field representative) is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with new and current customers within their assigned territory. They will meet with customers in person to identify their needs, present product solutions and benefit proposals, provide quotations and negotiate all deals and pricing. The OSR will also be working with their inside sales team member identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads and growing those relationships. As the primary relationship manager, it is also their responsibility to manage all account issues.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Outside Sales Representative Include:

  • Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales
  • Identify and establish contact with potential customers
  • Schedule and perform product demonstrations with potential customers
  • Quoting terms and offers within permitted parameters to ensure the greatest possible sales price and consistency in the market
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and current customers to facilitate future selling opportunities
  • Collaborating with leadership to manage and address any issues relating to clients, product or tech, service and installation, accounts receivable and a strong focus on always improving customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining detailed customer records in the CRM software to support positive customer communication, service and satisfaction
  • Generate and submit sales activity reports to management
  • Research trends, competitors and potential clients
  • Stay up-to-date on industry related articles
  • Meet set KPI’s and Quotas specified in compensation plan
